It’s Raining Men !

Posted in blog with tags , , , , , on December 7, 2013 by kaysarazin

Not really, it’s mostly just sprinkling.

Just a gentle reminder to all– DON’T BLAST THE CAR HEATERS IN YOUR FACE ! I know it’s tempting, but it is what will most definitely dry out your skin the most quickly. And in this weather, you don’t want that ! It’s colder and colder and I know you’re all rushing to be warm, but it’s not gonna be worth it once your skin starts overproducing oil to compensate…. Breakouts are never fun. Especially when the breakouts are in the midst of dry, flaky skin. So, do yourself a favor, turn on the defroster instead (It heats up your car but doesn’t aim the warm air at you) and moisturize your face with a non-oil-based moisturizer.

If your skin is feeling really dry, do an oil-based, but be wary. The dry weather can make your skin overreact and you don’t wanna add to the buildup. Just be skin conscious and you’ll be fine !

As always, message me with questions, and good luck with finals and end-of-the-year tidings.

I’m sure you’ve all heard of this widely popular trend among adolescent and not-so-adolescent boys alike. Of course on some men we beg them not to (Patchy pieces of fur aren’t the most attractive), on some, a little facial hair does go a long way.

What’s important to remember– Don’t forget to wash your face!! Your skin is still producing oil and gathering dirt throughout the day, and just because hair can act as a barrier doesn’t mean it is. Clean your face, and when you do finally shave, of course remember to use a clean, sharp razor, shaving cream/gel/oil, and be sure to moisturize and use something with salicylic acid to combat ingrown hairs.

Happy Mo-vember !!!!

Heat Wave !~

Happy Heat !

As you know, So Cal is preparing for the big heat wave today. I myself experienced a sunburn/heat stroke/asthma attack. Ok, I might be over-exaggerating, but I swear to GOD I was dying. My friend and I decided to go on a hike last minute (Much to my dismay, I had zero sunscreen on me except for what I had applied on my face) and ended up hiking the Oak Park Mountains for FIVE HOURS. Burned on my arms and shoulders, though his were worse, I really should have prepared better ! And so should you.

Of course, the sun will be blaring down on us today and tomorrow (I’m heading to Reedley to see my grandparents– 104 degree weather, here I come), so PLEASE remember to keep applying !! You will thank yrself later!!!

Full Force Ahead

Hi All!

We are in the middle of an intense heat wave right now (Especially you East Coasters WITH the humidity!)
So do not forget to keep yourself cool! Sweating is good, it is flushing out everything that is bad, while also regulating your body temperature. Just remember to cleanse it all off when you can, and your skin will glow in that bright sun.

As always, wear your SPF. Let’s hope August cools down a little bit !

It’s gonna be May

Posted in blog with tags , , , , , , , , , , on May 4, 2013 by kaysarazin

So it’s already May. I thought this was too funny to not post, especially since the other version of this meme is going around and this one is clearly superior.

Can you guys believe that it’s already almost summertime? And with all this heat (I mean, it did reach 90 degrees…) PLUS the fire in Camarillo, you’d better believe you gotta be taking precautions with your skin. Always better to avoid the wrinkles rather than trying to fix or cover them…. Anyway! I’m taking any questions as of right now so please feel free to anon if you wish and DM or even just comment on this post!

Have a gr8 day, it’s gonna be pretty temperate according to the weatherman…!

We’ve all heard the smoking speech. Probably beginning in 4th grade, where you have your first health class, and you learn the horrors of sexual reproduction and “Gateway Drugs”.

Of course, there are reasons as to why people smoke. It relaxes you, it “feels good”, you like the ritual, etc etc. People rationalize and rationalize why it’s OK to smoke, when everybody knows the reality: It is bad for you and it is hurting your body.

Aside from the obvious possible-probable-lung-cancer-yellow-teeth-yellow-nails that smoking causes, it is also one of the worst things you can do for your skin. Smoking drastically dehydrates the skin, pollutes and tightens the pore, and makes it impossible to do good work on it. It accelerates aging tenfold, and you have a very high chance of getting “Smoker’s mouth”, these little wrinkles that form around your lips. Not only that, but your skin tightens, making it difficult to penetrate any sort of hydrating product; and just forget about trying to extract anything. You’ll just be tugging for about 15 minutes before you’ve got a bunch of red spots on your face and zero extracted blackheads to show for it.

And I’m not just talking about cigarettes. I suppose in “celebration” of 4/20 (Commonly known amongst high schoolers and collegiates as Marijuana Legalization Day [Subtext: Smoke-a-lot-of-marijuana-day]) I’m writing this, as I know everybody in Westwood will be pretty out of their minds, if they aren’t already. Any smoke is bad for you.

If not for yourself, for those around you. Second-hand smoke is worse, anyway. Plus, Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd! Do it for the Earth, do it for yourself, do it for your skin. Quit.

Any questions? DM!
